THE WORLD'S motoring industry leaders will gather under one roof to show off their latest innovations and products this week.

In what had been described as Europe's largest dedicated motorsport trade show, Autosport International will reveal a wide range of future innovations in technology, high performance engines and new sports cars.

Radical GreenrRadical says its new 175mph model 'blows apart what was previously thought possible in the supercar marketplace'.
Engineering companies from every country imaginable will use the show for networking, launching new products and selling to the trade - and when over ?£800m of business was generated at Autosport International last year, the event could prove critical to forecast where Britain's automotive and motorsports industry is heading in the year ahead.

Taking place at the Birmingham NEC, with over 700 exhibitors last year and 28,500 industry guests, members of the trade can visit the show on Thursday and Friday this week, while over 81,000 members of the public are set to enjoy a spectacular show over the coming weekend.

But with an unstable climate for the automotive industry, and rocketing costs of raw metal for casting parts, a surprisingly large number of businesses are now diversifying into other field of engineering including defence, aerospace, marine and medical.

British racing car maker Radical will unleash its fastest ever supercar, the Radical Xtreme Coup, on the show's first day, while engine innovators Dee-Ltd aim to launch an upgraded version of Toyota's 3.5-litre V8 engine for aftersales.

'In the whole history of Radical I don't think I've been more excited about a new car than I am now with the RXC,' said MD Phil Abbott.

New gearboxes, fuel pumps, regulators and data logger systems will be among the latest product launches and innovations.

PUBLIC SPECTACULAR on SATURDAY 12 and SUNDAY 13 JAN.

Visitors will enjoy seeing the cars and stars from both past and present eras of motorsport. Red Bull's Formula One World Championship winner and Ferrari's challenger will headline a fleet of 2012 Grand Prix machinery on the F1 Racing Grid, alongside a special feature dedicated to the illustrious career of Sir Jackie Stewart.

Jackie Stewart

Three-times Formula One Scottish legend Jackie Stewart will be speaking at the show.

Three-time F1 World Champion Stewart, current F1 driver Paul Di Resta and multiple 24 Hours of Le Mans winners Derek Bell and Allan McNish are just some of the celebrities set to attend the event. Visitors can witness white-knuckle racing and record-breaking demonstrations in the Live Action Arena, alongside getting involved themselves with Caterham passenger rides and karting challenges on offer.

Running alongside Autosport International, visitors can also see The Performance Car Show, boasting an impressive display of supercars and performance cars, including the 700bhp V12 Lamborghini Aventador, the Ferrari 458 Spider, Audi's R8 V10Spyder and the fastest Ferrari ever built, the F12berlinetta.
