Ashley Cole is the highest paid defender in the world, with a weekly salary of nearly £200,000.

He’s a man who is in love with his cars, famous for taking his Lamborghini Gallardo for a spin around the block or even turning up at a nightclub in his Bentley. He has two Range Rovers in his collection.

Ashley Cole once owned a £270,000 Lamborghini Murcielago, before selling it. He also sold an Aston Martin worth around £200,000. When he married Cheryl, he bought her a £150,000 Bentley for their wedding anniversary.

But after a career filled with success and only occasional back troubles, calf problems and hamstring injuries, the 32-year-old will surely be looking for a more luxurious car in the coming year, especially as this season could potentially see the star achieve his 400th cap in the Premier League.

Ashley Cole has racked up 101 caps in Champions League football, for Chelsea and Arsenal, his previous club. In total, he has participated in 622 matches for club and country, scoring 16 goals and setting up an additional 55. He’s played 53,119 minutes of football and achieved 103 caps for the England national football team.

Love him or hate him, Ashley Cole has been described as the best left back in the world and can stop even the most potent of strikers. With 367 Premier League games on his CV, Cole will only need 33 caps to make it 400. And when he does, he’ll feel like celebrating massively.

If the rumours are to be believed, Ashley Cole’s love of cars will not prevent him from treating himself to a new Lamborghini Aventador.
