In the first of a series of blog posts about stars and their cars, Taylor Swift gets a brief automotive analysis.
Having driven – or been driven around – in a stylish Audi R8, a Mercedes-Benz Viano, a ghastly Porsche 911 Turbo and the horrendous climate killer that is the Chevrolet Silverado, Taylor Swift is in desperate need of some fun in her automotive world.
And it seems she is on her way to more automotive fun, having recently acquired a Volkswagen Golf GTI. But I feel she needs two additional cars for special occasions.
With a rumoured fortune of $80m (£51m), one of those occasions should be for driving to and from the shops in her immediate local area while another should be set aside for being sporty and showing off.
So here we are: the MINI Convertible and the Audi RS 7 Sportback.
The MINI Convertible
This is for her journey to the shops and around town. She can taxi her designer clothes and even throw – perhaps not literally – a guitar in the back. While it may have German owners in BMW, the name remains an iconic British brand. While she is a country and country pop singer, the MINI Countryman would not suit the sunny summers in America so the MINI Convertible was the next best option for Taylor Swift.
Audi RS 7 Sportback
With a starting price expected to be around £84,000 in the UK, the Audi RS 7 Sportback is a luxury but cool car. Not just cool, but sporty, fast and brilliant for those wishing to show off. With a top speed of 189mph, they’ll be little time to make adjustments to that anticipated hit she’s written as Miss Swift speeds her way to the recording studio.
